The Golf Club of Houston is best known for hosting the PGA’s Shell Houston Open since 2003. The Humble, Texas course is open to the public and is one of few in the area with daily fees north of $100. The Cypresswood Golf Club in nearby Spring, Texas, was one of only two public courses with 54 holes before 2010 when it closed the Creek Course. Harris County now uses the land as a public park. The Memorial Park Golf Course is located right in the heart of Houston. It first opened in 1912 as a 9-hole course for injured military personnel at Camp Logan.
