The Family Golf Center at Hickory Hollow features two 18-hole courses: Castle and Lighthouse. Those who play both courses in one day get a discounted rate. Nashboro Golf Club is known as one of the most challenging courses in the city due to tight fairways and several water hazards. Harpeth Hills Golf Course in Percy Warner Park is considered by many to be the best public course in the city. The par 72 layout, perfectly-manicured greens, Bermuda grass fairways, and awesome views make it a must-play course for visitors. The Hermitage Golf Course is also a popular public venue, with two 18-hole courses that challenge seasoned golfers and allow beginners to sharpen their games.
The Sneds Tour is administered by the Tennessee Golf Foundation. Its been one of the top junior golf tours in the state since the 1990s. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 compete in several different divisions at some of the best courses in the area. The Nancy Quarcelino School of Golf is one of the best options to introduce your child to golf and learn the game from seasoned players. Better Golf Academy for Kids in Nolensville accepts children aged 5 to 14. PGA professional Jim Kite teaches the fundamentals and helps experienced young golfers improve their overall games.
Brandt Snedeker is the pride of Nashville golf. He was born in Nashville and played golf collegiately at Vanderbilt. Brandt and his wife Many recently established a golf scholarship at the university as a way of giving back. Snedeker has won a total of eight PGA Tour events as of 2018. His first came at the Wyndham Championship in 2007. He beat K.J. Choi by one stroke at the 2016 Farmers Insurance Open, his last win on the tour. His best major finishes were third at the 2008 Masters and third at the 2012 Open Championship. He has earned nearly $33 million on the Tour, good for top 25 all-time on the money list.
